Scott Carson to leave Man City when contract expires this summer after six years with City. The 39-year-old reserve goalkeeper has made just two appearances and won 11 trophies during his six years at the Etihad Stadium. Including the treble in 2022-23 sportnews.

    The veteran shot-stopper has spent time with City as third-choice keeper behind Ederson and Stefan Ortega, playing just 117 minutes in total.

    During his loan spell, Carson saved a penalty in a 4-3 Premier League win over Newcastle United in May 2021.

    He was also a substitute in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 tie with Sporting Lisbon in March 2022.

    “During his time at City, Carson has been highly praised by goalkeeping coach Xavi Mansizido. As well as team-mates Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno for his work ethic. And the positive influence his attitude has had on the playing group,” a City statement said.

    Last month, former City team-mate Kyle Walker, who joined AC Milan on loan in January. Said: “To come in every day knowing you’re number three, mentally, I’ve got to give credit to him.”

    “He’s had a great career but to still have the passion for football and do what he does. Those are the people you want here.”

    Scott Carson has played for 10 teams since making his professional debut for Leeds United in 2004, including two years in Turkey with Bursaspor.
